Stayed 1 night 26th june 08, lovely room, spotlessly clean and comfortable, faultless service at all times, a little gem of a B and B, well worth a visit. With thanks from us both, we will return for a longer stay soon.

Well done the Melrose - home from home and value for money. The Melrose is ideally located for great walks. We stay in many hotels, particularly Hiltons and this is in the same league but on a smaller scale! Alan and Lynn were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. they gave us great suggestions for places to eat and we weren't disappointed. All in all an excellent week and we will definitely go back again. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MELROSE.

The Melrose is a fantastic place to stay, the owners are brilliant and really friendly as well as helpful, nothing seemed to much for them. The rooms are really clean and set to a high standard and we have recommended it to family and friends and will definately be back in july. Full breakfast was cooked to perfection and was surprised at the choice we had. (It was like a five course meal - fruit, cereal, yoghurt, toast etc). HIGHLY RECOMMEND this B&B.

Stayed at the Melrose. Great biking trips suggested by Alan, the owner, who rides a bit himself.Good drying facilities for the wet days!Great breakfasts and marvellous packed lunch for the days out biking. Superb,extremely comfortable accommodation.Very friendly.

Had a great stay at the Melrose. The room was lovely & clean and a great breakfast was provided to start the day! Alan & Lynn were brilliant hosts, always going the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Must also thank them for telling us all the local information on where to walk and what to see and also for lending us the local maps. We will definitely stay at the Melrose again.
